Seesaw Season Continues
Say that 5 times fast!

The Chiefs managed to take 3 of the 4 points available this past weekend (Dec 11-12) yet those points didn't come in the way anyone would have expected.  After a lackluster effort against the Windsor Spitfires could only generate a tie, the Chiefs came out flying on Sunday and throttled the Waterloo Wolves.

On Saturday, the Chiefs held a 2-goal lead midway through the third but could not hold on and the Spitfires tied it at 3 with a few minutes remaining.  The Chiefs seemed to run out of gas after pelting the 2 Windsor goalies for the better part of 2 periods.  It was a tense few minutes as the Chiefs held on to at east eak out 1 point against the Spits, who currently sit at the bottom of the division.

After the disappointing result on Saturday, who would have guessed that the CHiefs would not only beat Waterloo, but take them by a convincing score of 5-1?  This was quite a game, as the referees stole the spotlight in the first handing out penalty after penalty to both teams.  A Chief was tossed for checking from behind, and 2 Wolves were given checking to the head penalties which come with 10 minute misconducts.  It was a busy day over at the time-keeper bench.  The first period took about 30 minutes.  The parade to the box continued for most of the game, although not to the extent of the 1st.  Waterloo actually scored first in this one, but after that the Chief goalie (C. Pearen) slammed the door and the offense took over with 5 unanswered goals.

In the end, a pretty successful weekend and hopefully the boys now realize they can compete with the top teams.  They have another chance to prove this on the 18th as they face the Hamilton Reps who currently lead the Eastern Division.

POUR IT ON, CHIEFS!
