Family Skate @ the JLC
The Chiefs crashed the Knight party at the John Labatt Centre on Friday night. In the end...

Fun was had by all most on Friday Nov 19 at the JLC.  Dad’s, Chief players, family and friends took to the JLC ice at 5:45 for a fun skate.  C. Schyvenaars tended the net at one end and although he held his own – including a beauty glove save, I hope he isn’t considering a position change.  White Lightning (#7 on the White squad) was dominating  although I never saw him in the defensive zone.  A couple little guys never saw the bench, but that’s ok.  Both goalies got snowed and actually smiled afterwards.  No brawls and the most important part is that there were no injuries.  I’m not sure of the score but pretty sure my son’s team won handily.

Other highlights (and lowlights) from the night:

  • It was great to see Jason and we hope his health continues to improve and he can safely rejoin the team.

  • Cole stoned Sir Scores-a-lot 5 consecutive times earning, I believe, $100 for the team.  Way to go Cole!  Personally, I’d like that money to go to Krista to cover the cost of her now-required therapy.

  • Speaking of Sir Scores-a-lot, is that not the best mascot nickname going?  “Hi, I’m Sir Scores-a-lot, wanna come to my pad?”  He’s not even a Mr, he’s a SIR.  I bet all the other mascot’s are jealous – especially the Erie Otter and Plymouth Whaler.  On this night it was Mr. Scores-not!
  • Section 309 won free hamburgers.  We had a number of Chief families in that section. Not surprisingly, after the win was announced, we even had more Chiefs “appear” in the empty seats of section 309.
  • Section 307, Row ‘G’ won cupcakes and a few of the boys managed to squeeze into that row to claim their undeserved prize.  On the bright side, I got the leftovers :)
  • The Knights won the only fight of the night.
  • The Knights lost the game 7-3
  • Thanks to Krista for taking most of this on your shoulders and making it a success
