Canucks Impress with a 3-1-1 at Marlies Classic
The Canucks entered the Toronto Marlies Holiday Classic after dropping the last 3 in the regular season and turned their fates around. Finishing with a 3-0-1 record after and finishing 1st in the round robin stage, the Canucks were gifted with playing the Vaughan Kings (#1 team in Ontario) for their efforts.

Game 1 vs. Eastern Ontario Wild (T 2–2)
Trailing 2–1 in the final minutes of regulation, the Canucks demonstrated resilience and composure, capitalizing on a late opportunity with the net empty. Mason Mizzi found open space in the slot and delivered a low, accurate shot past the Wild goaltender to level the score at 2–2. Earlier in the contest, Charlie Matsos opened the scoring with an impressive one-timer from the point, showcasing both power and precision. Kaiden Harper earned the draw in goal with a strong performance between the pipes.

Game 2 vs. Halton Hurricanes (W 4–0)
The Canucks set the tone early and maintained control throughout, dictating play from the opening faceoff. With a decisive 38–18 shot advantage, the team generated sustained offensive pressure and converted four scoring chances. Goals were recorded by Cole Dailey, Tyler Burtenshaw, Alex Brereton, and Iyad Osman. Matthew East delivered a standout performance, securing his first ‘AAA’ shutout.

Game 3 vs. Quinte Red Devils (W 1–0)
In a disciplined, tightly contested matchup against the No. 7-ranked Quinte Red Devils, the Canucks remained patient and defensively structured. With just 20 seconds remaining, Iyad Osman won a critical offensive-zone faceoff back to Mason Mizzi, who wired a shot over the goaltender’s shoulder to claim a dramatic 1–0 victory. Kaiden Harper anchored the team in net, earning the shutout with a poised and technical performance.

Game 4 vs. Toronto Nationals (W 3–2)
Facing the Toronto Nationals for the second time this season, the Canucks were propelled by an exceptional effort in goal from Matthew East, who kept the team competitive through all 60 minutes. With the game tied 2–2 late in regulation, the Canucks pushed for the go-ahead goal. Following a key blocked shot, Nash Kelly raced the length of the ice and buried the empty-net marker to seal the 3–2 win. Quinn Wilson and Tyler Burtenshaw provided crucial momentum earlier, scoring back-to-back on the same shift to establish a 2–1 lead.

Game 5 vs. Vaughan Kings (L 7–2)
The top-ranked Vaughan Kings showcased their speed and depth early, controlling the pace from puck drop. Despite goals from Nash Kelly and Nolan Underhill, the Canucks faced a 7–2 defeat. Kaiden Harper stood tall in goal, delivering a determined and competitive performance to close out the tournament.

The Canucks organization extends its appreciation to the Toronto Marlies for hosting an outstanding tournament. From our coaching staff, players, and families—wishing all teams and participants a safe holiday season and a very Happy New Year.
