The U16 Canucks continue to play strong defensive hockey giving up 1 goal over the weekend. Kaiden Harper continued his strong play in the pipes with strong support from the defense core and the offense providing contributions from all 3 lines.
Saturday, November 1 – Win 3–0 vs. Cambridge
The Canucks closed out their season series against Cambridge in dominant fashion, completing a three-game sweep of the Hawks with a 3–0 victory. Nash Kelly led the offense with two goals, while Peter Duffy netted his first of the season from the point. Assists were credited to Knox Scarrow, Iyad Osman (2), Andrew Sudicky, and Quinn Wilson.
Sunday, November 2 – Win 4–1 vs. Sun County
Facing a strong Sun County squad coming off a 6–0 win over Chatham, the Canucks delivered another impressive performance on home ice. Alex Brereton opened the scoring with two goals in the first period, giving the Canucks early momentum. Mason Mizzi extended the lead to 3–0 in the second, and Iyad Osman sealed the victory with an empty-net goal to secure a 4–1 final.
Matteo Gicante moved up to forward to help fill the absence of Quinn Wilson and Cole Dailey, and chipped in with an assist. Additional assists were recorded by Peter Duffy, Cole McLean, Tyler Burtenshaw, and Nash Kelly.
The Canucks will travel to Windsor on Friday, November 7, for a matchup at Central Park, followed by a home contest against the Waterloo Wolves on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. in Komoka.
