Catching Up
The U15 Canucks have been working hard the past 2 weeks. The boys played in the Alliance Showcase in Windsor, met with Jason Williams and Jason Bukala educating themselves about their future in hockey and spending time at the Komoka Foodland collecting canned goods before a home game Vs. Huron Perth!
The team was able to collect over $500.00 in cash and 150 pounds of food thanks to Foodland Komoka and Railway City Brewing in St. Thomas. We appreciate everyone's support.
The U15 Canucks struggled to put the puck in the net against their 4 league opponents and only picked up 1 point out of a possible 8 with a 1-1 tie against Lambton Sting. The Canucks were down 5-1 against host team Windsor and battled back to a 5-4 game with 2 minutes left. Unfortunately, they were not able to get the tying goal. Back to back losses against Chatham and Sun County were the result of only being able to put 1 goal in each game.
The boys went back to work and with the help of Canucks Coach Mentor, Jason Williams, the Canucks had a strong practice focusing on getting to the net and moving the puck. Jason Bukala, a former NHL scout, visited the young men and parents to explain to them what scouts, coaches are looking for at the next level. The inspired team took to the ice Saturday against a tough Huron Perth team who they previously tied and lost too. The Canucks were able to secure a 3-2 win to get the train rolling in the right direction. Next game will be Friday November 29th in Brantford against a tough opponent. Go 'Nucks.
