Chiefs Head to the Alliance Hockey Playoff Finals!
This semi-final series against a very determined Chatham-Kent Cyclones team did not go as quickly as in the preliminary round when the Chiefs swept the series in 3 games.
The first game ended in a loss for the Chiefs in a very close match, finishing 2-1 for the Cyclones.
Game 2 was a more convincing win, with the Chiefs finishing in a 5-1 victory in Bothwell in a very hard-hitting game with lots of penalties for both teams.
Back in Komoka for game 3, the Chiefs earned another 5-1 victory and it looked like the series was just about over. Not for the Cyclones. They used home ice advantage to win 3-0 and shut down the Chiefs scoring that had put 10 points up on the board in the last two games against them.
The Chiefs would have none of this. In game 5, they rallied to end the series on home ice with a 4-3 win.
Next up for the Chiefs is the Alliance Hockey Playoff Finals against the Brantford 99'ers.
