Chiefs Take Wind Out of Cyclones
The Chiefs played the Chatham-Kent Cyclones tonight in Komoka. It was a slow start to the game with the first goal, scored by the Chiefs, coming near the end of the first period. The Chiefs scored another goal early in the second period and the period ended 2-0 for the Chiefs.
Most of the action came in the third period of this game. The Cyclones took advantage of a 5-3 power play to get on the scoreboard. The refs kept the game tight. It seemed like every time the Chiefs got a power play, a penalty was called against them before the power play was over. However, good pressure by the Chiefs earned the team two more goals in the third. Solid goal tending and some luck kept the Cyclones from making this closely played game closer on the scoreboard. Despite some penalties with only minutes left to go in the game, the Chiefs held on to prevail 4-1 over the Cyclones.
