U18 CANUCKS CLINCH CENTRAL REGION CHAMPIONSHIP
The Elgin Middlesex Canucks have triumphed as U18 AAA Central Region Champions!
After clinching the Alliance Hockey Championship title, the Canucks earned a spot in the prestigious Central Region Championship hosted in Kemptville, Ontario, with the ultimate prize—a chance to compete at the 2025 Men's U18 National Club Championship, the renowned Telus Cup.
In the final showdown, the Canucks faced a tough adversary, going head-to-head with the undefeated Vaughan Kings. The game took a dramatic turn early on as the Canucks fell behind by two goals in the first period. But they refused to back down. Rallying in the second period, they stormed back to even the score at 2-2. The nail-biting third period brought no decisive change, and the game pushed into a tense 3-on-3 overtime. Seven minutes into the high-stakes overtime, Lucas Van Steensel unleashed a winning shot that lit up the scoreboard and sealed the victory for the Canucks.
With hearts full of pride and determination, the U18 Canucks now set their sights on the Telus Cup in Chilliwack, British Columbia, where they will challenge the nation’s top contenders.
Congratulations, U18 Canucks! Your journey to greatness continues!
