It’s that time of year and a special time for our Minor Atoms/U10 team as it is their first opportunity to play playoff hockey at the AAA level. We would love to see your support in the stands for these young players! Check out our playoff schedule below, as well as highlights of the amazing season we've had so far.
It has been an amazing season both on and off the ice in their first year of experiencing AAA. On ice we skated to a 20-7-5 record while playing in the Sarnia showcase in August. The Drew Doughty Tournament in London in October. The Shanahan tournament in Mississauga, as well as Silver Stick in Whitby both in November. Then finally the Cup in Buffalo, which included a couple of outdoor games in January.
Off ice we have had multiple team and community events such as Fundraising and toy driving for the Ronald McDonald house in London, as well as going for a tour of the house. We found out why the Ronald McDonald house is so important to the children in care and their families. We also attended a Western Mustangs game with a tour of the dressing room, whilst challenging Head Coach Clarke Singer and asst. Dave Warren with some good questions.
While at Silver Stick in Whitby we had the honour of being able to tour the Oshawa Generals facility and attend a competitive Oshawa team practice. One of the highlights of the tour experience was a meeting with the Oshawa coach staff and former Elgin Middlesex Chief - Brett Harrison.
Furthermore , we were also a part of the "fill the bag toy drive" with our "Buddies" the Minor Midget/U16 team during the Holiday Season. We have done multiple events with our Mentors throughout the season as we wish them luck in their playoff run and vision to play in the OHL Cup.
We look forward to you support in our first chance at an Alliance Championship, with it beginning this Saturday, February 15th at 12:15pm vs Chatham at the Komoka Wellness Centre.
