Richard Bell Memorial - Silver Medalists!
The 2005 Minor Peewee Chiefs capped off 2016 with a silver medal in the Richard Bell Memorial Tournament. In sixth place after round robin play, they battled back against tough competition to make it to the final game against the Oakville Rangers.

Starting with an exciting victory over the Jokerit Red team from Finland, the Chiefs had a disappointing loss to the Burlington Eagles, and a close loss to Niagara North, but rallied with a win over the Hamilton Huskies to move on to the quarterfinals. There they delivered some satisfying payback to both Burlington and Niagara, with an exciting overtime win in the semis to make it to the final game against the Oakville Rangers.  In front of a vocal hometown Oakville crowd, the Chiefs battled hard and ended the first period tied, but fell behind in the second and could not recover.

We are so proud of these great kids for the character, determination and teamwork they showed, recovering from a shaky start to come so close to gold against strong competition.  Way to go, Chiefs!!!
