Game report October 25, 2011 vs Lambton
The Chiefs took on the powerful Lambton Sting on Tuesday night. Beefed up with a number of high end players recruited from other AAA clubs in the off-season, the Sting is ranked #15 in Ontario behind Gold and Sun County in the top 5. With a number of our injured players back in the lineup including Captain Brook Hiddink #8, we were able to roll three effective lines.

Hiddink #8 scored 5 minutes into the game on a feed from Sam Vokes #44. He crossed the blueline and quick-released a laser wrist shot into the upper net that had the Sting goalie frozen. The Chief defence kept the speedy Sting sharpshooters to the outside allowing the goaltender to see the shots. In the second period, EMC capitalized on a powerplay. Vokes #44 scored on a hard wristshot from the slot on passes from Hiddink #8 and Dylan Johnston #9.

EMC penalty-killers were successful on both occasions. As Lambton’s frustration escalated, the Chiefs wore down their speedy opponents clogging up the neutral zone. With their goalie pulled for the extra attacker in the last minute of the game, Keaton McIntyre #13 burst into the offensive zone unassisted, stripping the Sting defenceman of the puck and firing a wristshot into the yawning cage. The Chiefs outshot their opponent 27-24 and won the game 3-0. Goalie Coleman McDonald #35 was solid in net earning his third AAA shutout.

Final stats:
Hiddink 1G 1A
Vokes 1G 1A
McIntyre 1G
