Chiefs Sting Sarnia
After coming off of a 5 game unbeaten streak and a fabulous weekend in Michigan, the Chiefs showed up flat against London last week. It was to be a short-lived one-game slump, however, as they appeared "back in the game " against Sarnia last night.
Strong goal tending, power play opportunities, and great passing plays led the Chiefs to a 2-0 lead after the first period. The second period was a little tighter but the Chiefs managed to make it 3-0 before the end of the period. In the third period, the play became a little scrambly at both ends as the Sting pulled their goalie half way through the period on a power play opportunity. The Chiefs fended them off through the penalty kill but the Sting kept their goalie out in a desperate attempt to narrow the gap in the score. However, it was the Chiefs who managed to break out and put the 4th goal of the game into an empty net. With only a few minutes left in the game, the Sting managed to put one into the Chief's net to rob our goalie of the shut-out.
The Chiefs face up against the Huron Perth Lakers Sunday at 1:15 on home ice.
