2019-20 Coach of the Year Award presented at AGM
EMC held a socially distanced version of the AGM in Komoka last night. A highlight of the two meetings was presentation of the 2019/2020 “Coach of the Year” award to Minor Midget coach Jason Williams.  Coach Mentor Dave Warren presented Jason with the award, which includes a $200 credit for future coaching courses.  A new plaque for the annual award has been placed in Chiefs' trophy case in Komoka, and Jason’s name has been added as the first recipient.

Jason’s 2019/2020 Minor Midget team went undefeated in the regular season with 25 wins, 0 losses and 8 ties.  They led the league with 147 goals scored while allowing the least against at 55.  Their Alliance Championship win earned them a berth in the OHL Cup, which unfortunately was cancelled due to the pandemic.  Coach Mentor Dave Warren, who presented the award to Jason, noted that not only was his success as a coach evident from the team’s success on the ice and in the OHL Priority Selection draft, but in appreciation from his players.

EMC is proud to announce that Jason has joined the EMC for the 2020/2021 season in the position of Skills and Development Coach.
