Hello. My name is Todd Smith and I will be the Minor Atom AAA coach for the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs 2016-17.
I live in Dorchester with my wife Natalie and 3 boys, Aidan, Jack and Carson. All of my boys play hockey at the rep level and I have been involved in the game for many years helping coach teams they have played on. I am currently an assistant coach/trainer for the Minor Peewee AAA EMC team (04) with my son Jack.
My philosophy for next season is simple:
BIG THREE
Play SMART Compete HARD Always RESPECT
Smart- offside, positions, changes, passing, attention during practices, listening
Hard - self explanatory, win the battles and races
Respect - teammates, coaches, officials, opposition, parents and sportsmanship
Mandate- the development of hockey skills and knowledge of the game through consistent and constant positive re-enforcement for all players.

- Relationships
A strong emphasis on Technical skills development (skating, shooting, passing etc). I am a big believer in being a team player and hard work.
A good team will almost always beat a group of more talented individuals that are not playing like a team.
Meet development goals while keeping it fun.
Individual tactics and team tactics will also be incorporated for practices and will increase as the season progresses.
We will compete in 4 tournaments (TBD).
